Soul to soul

Soul to soul is a classical blue and jazz fusion. It is a delicate arrangement that gives voices to two compatible instruments: the piano and organ. The electronic organ, especially the Hammond B-3, has occupied a significant role in blues and jazz ever since Jimmy Smith made it popular in the 1950s. It can function as a replacement for both piano and bass in the standard jazz combo. With the combination of the two instruments together there is a unique and unforgettable blend of musical chemistry produced. The piano and organ began playing a slow soul stirring tune. The rhythm section plays a careful and cautious cadence. The cadance is measured and paced, very carefully with off beat syncopation. The piano and organ entertwine, as they play back and forth the melody. Please visit: Arthur Ned Maxwell composer
